HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response) We prefer to train at your site, so employees can learn about their own equipment and how to respond to leaks in their own system; however, we can provide off-site training as needed. Training can be general, or specific to ammonia refrigeration systems or oil spill response. 24-Hour Hazardous Materials Technician This class satisfies OSHA/WISHA requirements for those who respond offensively to stop a hazardous chemical release. Students successfully completing the class are certified as HAZWOPER Technicians. Topics covered include, but are not limited to, laws and regulation; incident command and notification; hazard recognition, assessment, and communication; respiratory protections; monitoring and instrumentation; PPE/chemical protective clothing; decontamination procedures; confined space hazard and assessment; lockout/tagout; and emergency response plans. 8-Hour First Responder/Operations Level This class is designed for those who respond defensively to hazardous chemical releases. These employees respond to spills as part of the initial response to protect nearby persons, property or the environment from the effects of the release. Topics covered include, but are not limited to, basic terminology and hazard and risk assessment techniques; selection and use of PPE; basic control, containment and confinement and decontamination procedures; DOT emergency response guidebook; and standard operating and termination procedures. We also provide annual refresher training to responders as required by the HAZWOPER regulation. 8-Hour On-Scene Incident Commander Training This course provides Incident Commanders, who are responsible for the direction and coordination of an emergency response effort, information on the following: advanced incident command system; how to work with response agencies; advanced hazard and risk assessment; implementing a response plan; evaluating the response; and adjusting to meet conditions.
This 4-hour course provides an introduction to and overview of the 14 elements of Process Safety Management. Each element is discussed, compliance examples are given, and current enforcement approaches are discussed. Students finish the class with a good understanding of the basic requirements of PSM.
This course is designed for employees whose responsibilities require them to understand and/or comply with OSHA regulations. The course provides a general overview of OSHA standards and regulations as they relate to specific industries, including the following topics: OSHA's authority, citation structure, and resources; handling inspections; record keeping and reporting requirements; accident investigation; and OSHA standards and written plans. OSHA 10-hour Certification Class This course covers basic safety topics such as lockout/tagout, confined space, respiratory protection, record keeping and reporting, etc. Students receive certification by OSHA upon completion of this class.
These courses include the following and are designed for engineers, maintenance workers, supervisors or any employee in a safety sensitive position about the necessary applicable OSHA requirements and what they need to know in order to effectively and safely do their job. Courses can be general or tailored to a specific operation. Below is a list of each course offered and the topics covered.
