Respiratory Training and Fit Testing Program

Training, and fit-testing, is required annually of each person who wears a respirator plus everyone who supervises those who wear respirators.

Topics covered include:

• Respirator selection, inspection and use
• Typical hazards and their health effects
• Respirator capabilities and limitations
• Selection and service life of cartridges
• Inspection, donning, seal check procedures, and correct use of the respirators your employees use
• Proper maintenance and storage
• Regulations concerning respirator use
• Fit-testing or training in how to fit-test

We can also train your supervisors in how to train their employees!

Annual Employee Training and Fit Testing

Our Annual Training & Fit-testing Program covers the standard required topics but we mix it up every year so we cover what's necessary, but bring in new information to keep it interesting.  Topics include:

• Respirator selection, inspection and use
• Typical hazards and their health effects
• Respirator capabilities and limitations
• Inspection, donning, seal check procedures, and correct use
• Maintenance and storage
• Regulations concerning respirator use

Employees are fit-tested according to OSHA protocols.

Administrator and Supervisor Training

This 6-hour class prepares the respiratory program administrator to apply the standard to the workplace.  Subjects covered include:

• Why and when respirators are required
• How to select proper respirators and cartridges
• Medical evaluation criteria and procedures
• How to formulate proper cartridge change-out schedules
• Hands-on fit testing, inspection and cleaning procedures
• Training requirements
• Industry and compliance perspectives of the standard
